High-Performance Intake Manifolds & Intake Horns
Unlock the true potential of your engine with SPELAB's precision-engineered intake manifolds. Whether you are looking to eliminate the restrictive factory design on a 6.7L Cummins, replace the prone-to-fail plastic manifold on a 6.7L Powerstroke, upgrade your Duramax LML/L5P, or breathe new life into a classic Ford FE V8, our collection delivers maximum airflow and reliability.
We utilize high-grade Cast Aluminum, Billet Aluminum, and T-304 Stainless Steel to solve common OEM issues: cracking, warping, and heat soak. By optimizing plenum volume and runner geometry, SPELAB intake systems lower Exhaust Gas Temperatures (EGTs), improve throttle response, and increase horsepower.
1. Engine-Specific Upgrades: Find Your Solution
1.1 6.7L Cummins Intake Horns (2007.5-2024)
The stock intake horn on the Dodge Ram 6.7L Cummins is notoriously restrictive. Our 6.7 Cummins High-Flow Intake Horns feature a larger 3.5-inch inlet and smooth mandrel bends to increase airflow (CFM). Available in Fabricated Stainless Steel for ultimate strength or Cast Aluminum for heat dissipation. Many owners pair this with a Grid Heater Delete to eliminate the risk of engine failure.
1.2 6.7L Powerstroke Intake Manifolds (2011-2019)
For Ford Super Duty owners, the factory plastic intake manifold is a ticking time bomb that can crack under boost. SPELAB offers a durable Cast Aluminum 6.7L Powerstroke Intake Manifold replacement. This upgrade prevents catastrophic plastic failure and removes internal restrictions, making it essential for tuned or towing trucks.
1.3 Duramax LML & L5P Intake Solutions
Maximize flow into your Chevy or GMC engine with our Performance Intake Manifolds and Bridges. Designed for the 6.6L Duramax, these upgrades replace the restrictive factory Y-bridge and piping, smoothing out the air path for faster turbo spool-up.
1.4 Ford FE V8 Intake Manifolds (390/427/428)
Restore the glory of your classic muscle car. Our Aluminum Ford FE Intake Manifolds are available in Dual-Plane designs, perfect for street performance. They offer significant weight reduction over stock cast iron while improving the power band from idle to 5500 RPM.
2. Material Science: Aluminum vs. Stainless Steel vs. Plastic
Why do we use specific materials? It comes down to application:
- Cast & Billet Aluminum: Excellent heat dissipation properties. Aluminum cools down faster than iron or steel, helping to keep the intake charge dense. It is the standard for our manifold bases and plenums.
- T-304 Stainless Steel: Used in our fabricated intake horns and piping. Stainless steel offers superior tensile strength to handle extreme boost pressures (100+ PSI) without deformation and is impervious to rust and corrosion.
- Stock Plastic (The Enemy): Prone to heat fatigue, brittleness, and cracking. We replace this weak material to ensure your truck stays on the road.
3. Installation & Supporting Mods
To get the most out of your new intake manifold, consider the entire air system.
- Intercooler Pipes: Pair your manifold with a High-Flow Intercooler Pipe Kit to remove the next restriction in the line.
- EGR Delete: For off-road competition diesels, installing an intake manifold is the perfect time to perform an EGR delete to prevent soot buildup from clogging your new part.
4. Why Choose SPELAB? Engineering & Validation
At SPELAB, we don't just manufacture parts; we engineer solutions. Our development process bridges the gap between OEM limitations and aftermarket performance.
4.1 Data-Driven Design (CFD Analysis)
Every intake manifold begins with Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) software. We scan the factory bottlenecks—such as the flattened bends on the 6.7 Cummins horn or the baffled runners on the Powerstroke—and redesign the internal geometry. The result is a Laminar Flow path that reduces turbulence and increases air volume by up to 40% over stock.
4.2 Dyno-Proven Horsepower
We validate our engineering on the dyno. While a manifold alone adds efficiency, our testing shows real-world gains when paired with proper tuning:
- Power Gains: Expect increases of 10-25 HP and significant torque improvements in the low-to-mid RPM range.
- Lower EGTs: By supplying dense, oxygen-rich air, our manifolds help cool the combustion cycle, dropping EGTs by 50-150°F during heavy towing.
4.3 "Bulletproof" Reliability
We target known failure points. From the "Killer Grid Heater Bolt" on the Dodge Ram to the bursting plastic pipes on the Ford Super Duty, SPELAB intake systems are built to permanently eliminate the weak links that leave drivers stranded.
4.4 Unmatched Support & Logistics
We believe the buying experience should be as high-performance as the parts. Here is how we support your build:
- Comprehensive Installation Guides: Every product comes with detailed, step-by-step instructions. Whether you are a seasoned mechanic or a DIY enthusiast, our guides ensure a smooth, error-free installation.
- Fast Shipping (4 US Warehouses): We operate four strategic warehouses across the East, West, and Central United States (Florida, Kentucky, California, and New Jersey). This network allows us to dispatch orders rapidly, minimizing downtime and getting you back on the road faster.
- Professional Technical Support: Not sure about fitment? Our team of automotive experts is ready to assist. We provide professional advice to help you choose the exact part for your specific engine generation and build goals.
5. Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Q1: Does the 6.7 Cummins intake horn upgrade require a tune?
A1: If you are simply upgrading the intake horn for better airflow, a tune is typically not required. However, if you are performing a Grid Heater Delete or EGR delete alongside the installation, tuning is required to prevent check engine codes.
Q2: Why replace the 6.7 Powerstroke plastic manifold?
A2: The stock plastic manifold is prone to cracking and bursting, especially on trucks with higher mileage or tunes. Upgrading to a Cast Aluminum Manifold permanently solves this reliability issue and handles higher boost pressures safely.
Q3: What is the difference between Single-Plane and Dual-Plane for Ford FE?
A3: A Dual-Plane manifold (like the SPELAB Typhoon series) is best for street use, offering better low-end torque and throttle response. A Single-Plane manifold is better for high-RPM racing applications.
Q4: Will this improve my fuel economy?
A4: By reducing the engine's pumping loss (it doesn't have to work as hard to suck in air), many drivers report a slight improvement in MPG during steady highway cruising, in addition to the power gains.

Installed CCV catch can kit for a 2016 Ford F250 very easy to install so far no issues would recommend/seems to be very good quality/
The parts were packaged well and customer service was amazing. The instructions were super easy to follow and overall layout of the kit made the install go like a breeze. I only took three hours to install the kit and I’ve hadn’t had a single problem with it. You can hear a difference in the truck and the mileage has gone up. I would recommend this kit.
Perfect fit, very happy with my purchase
Everything is super high quality, and the absolute best price is could find if i had to complain about anything it would be the exhaust tip I wish the flange for the clamp was .1 longer to get a socket on it.
Product looks good and bolted on with ease. I used the factor fill hole for the first fill and it aligned perfectly with the ball floating in the middle of the sight glass. In the future I can just top fill and use the glass as the gauge. Very happy with it so far!
My spec lab EGR delete kit has been absolutely amazing. It was fast and easy to install and keep my truck running 5° cooler.
The installation went great just to remove the 2024 gmc cover vent you need a t40 bit and to hammer it in to get the security screws out. Love the look and over all installation God Bless.
Shipping was fast an parts fit perfect
Easy to install. Data from before and after shows a large gain in airflow. MPG did get slightly better. Only recommendation for SPELAB is that they polish the inside of the horn to keep soot from collecting on non EGR deleted vehicles.
It was easy to install did not come with instructions but i did watch a YouTube video and was done pretty quick.
Amazing craftsmanship for the price, only beef is it could be powder coated a little higher where the cap goes on an maybe a little bit nicer of a cap but overall 5/5, very impressed.
Well, made in a good price no complaints
Kit was complete every thing lined up and I do have more power and better mpg. Customer service helped when FedEx wasn’t delivering once customer service called them. I received the parts in two days.
Super easy install everything needed was included looks amazing
After adding mine to the car, it looks fantastic. Blends in with the engine bay and doesn't look terrible with the plastic OEM one. It was easy to swap out. The only issue I have is that there is no actual cold marker on the reservoir so I had refilled as the instructions said and it pushed the extra into the overflow tank and it is now overfilled and leaking. I also think having a mount for the batter cable to reattach would be good so the cable isn't laying against the tank would be great. Outside of that it looks great and so far haven't seen any over heating issues.
