How Each Product Enhances Performance on the 2020–2024 6.7L Powerstroke Engine
The performance upgrades SPELAB offers for the 2020–2024 Ford Super Duty equipped with the 6.7L Powerstroke diesel engine are more than just bolt-ons—they each serve a specific purpose and deliver measurable gains in power, efficiency, and reliability. Here’s a breakdown of what each product does and the performance impact you can expect:
-
DPF Delete (Diesel Particulate Filter Removal): Removing the DPF reduces exhaust backpressure by up to 30%, allowing the turbocharger to spool faster and improve throttle response. In real-world testing, it can add 10–20 horsepower and improve fuel efficiency by 5–10%.
-
EGR Delete (Exhaust Gas Recirculation Delete): Stops exhaust gases from re-entering the combustion chamber, leading to cleaner, more efficient combustion. Expect smoother engine operation and up to a 15+ HP increase. It also reduces soot buildup and lowers engine temps.
-
Tuner (Engine Programmer): Load custom tunes for towing, racing, or fuel economy. A properly tuned 2020 6.7 Powerstroke can go from the stock 475 HP to over 550 HP, with torque gains exceeding 120 lb-ft.
-
Intercooler Pipe Kit + Intake Upgrades: Reduces boost pressure loss and increases air density, leading to better throttle response—especially noticeable at mid to high RPMs.
-
Downpipe-Back Exhaust + Muffler Delete: Improves exhaust flow, lowers backpressure, and enhances engine sound. When paired with a tuner, you can see an additional 15–25 HP gain and a more aggressive exhaust tone.
-
Oil Catch Can & CCV Delete: Prevents carbon buildup in the intake system over time, ensuring long-term engine health—perfect for heavy-duty use or extended highway driving.
-
Radiator & Differential Cover: Improves cooling performance and drivetrain durability under heavy load, high-altitude, or hot-weather conditions—ideal for towing and off-roading.
While these upgrades work well on their own, the real magic happens when you combine them:
The "Tuner + DPF Delete + EGR Delete" combo can push total power to over 550 HP while improving fuel efficiency by up to 10%.
The "Intercooler Pipe Kit + Intake + Exhaust Upgrade" setup is perfect for enthusiasts seeking throttle response and aggressive sound.
Pros & Cons of Upgrade Combinations: Which Setup Is Right for You?
When it comes to upgrading your 2020–2024 Ford 6.7 Powerstroke diesel truck, understanding the pros and cons of each product combination is key. Whether you're towing heavy loads, off-roading, or using your truck for daily driving, there's an ideal configuration to match your needs.
Key Benefits:
-
Significant Power Gains: As mentioned earlier, combining a tuner, DPF delete, and EGR delete can boost a stock 6.7 Powerstroke from 475 HP to over 550 HP, with torque surpassing 1,100 lb-ft.
-
Improved Fuel Economy: Removing emissions restrictions allows for better airflow and more efficient combustion. Real-world users report an 8–12% improvement in fuel mileage.
-
Faster Throttle Response: Upgraded intake and exhaust systems reduce turbo lag and make acceleration feel smoother and more immediate.
-
Long-Term Engine Reliability: Add-ons like the Oil Catch Can and CCV Delete help maintain cleaner internals, reducing carbon buildup and cutting down on maintenance costs over time.
Potential Drawbacks:
-
Legal Restrictions: Certain parts—like the DPF and EGR delete kits—may not comply with emissions laws in some states or countries. Always check local regulations before installation.
-
Tuning Required: Tuners need to be matched with the right tunes. Using incorrect settings can affect engine stability and performance.
-
Louder Exhaust: Muffler delete kits will significantly increase exhaust sound, which may not be ideal for drivers who prefer quieter operation.
-
Higher Initial Cost: A full performance build can be an investment. It’s often smarter to upgrade in stages based on budget and usage.

Awesome product I put the 3" cutouts on my 78 nova and they work great. Easy to install.
After installing the Spelab intake my EGT’s have lowered about 150/200 degrees from stock! I tow 90% of the time with this truck, I should have done this upgrade way earlier!
This kit came in a very nice box with all the necessary hardware to complete the installation without any modifications. Installation time was about two hours working methodically by myself with some occasional help from my 13 year old son as he passed through the garage. As many others have commented it would be nice to have some printed instructions with the kit, but it is not hard to figure out. I went with the red version because it was the cheapest, and I think it looks great. After installation, custom tuning with a mm3 tuner, and an upgraded exhaust the 6.7 is opened up and free to run.
Great components solid workmanship very happy with the product and looks really rood. I went with the red
I am a mechanic so it’s hard for me to say someone with absolutely no skills that this is easy. But watch YouTube I will say everyone is worried about the egr exhaust bolts. But one video he sprayed them and soak them. I had sprayed mine each time I drove the truck and every morning for 4 days. Than another video a guy said drive the truck get it hot than when you go to take them out hit the socket and extension with hammer to loosen them. So I also did this. They all came out with absolutely no problem. I did have to take off my intake cause I did the ccv and disaster kit as well. And these bolts did not get sprayed. And one did break! I was able to get it out with wd40 and pb blaster and tapping with hammer. To drop dpf I sprayed the hangers with pb blaster used a pry bar and they pop right off. Remember when taking that off you might miss a coupe connectors so take your time! Also the back of dpf I had two broken studs and one so rusted that I had to use a grinder. After got it out I had to take a drill to my existing manifold cause the rusted bolts closed up the holes. Currently I left my dpf tank in the truck. I plan on removing it but I don’t have a reason yes!
Make sure to read all instructions and again take your time. I’m currently having issues updating the mini max cause I didn’t do it before install. But spe hands down was amazing the products everything was perfect besides the intake. The mass air flow sensor didn’t fit and to clean the metal shavings I used brake clean and it melted there spray paint on that one product, everything else i believe is powder coated. I know it’s not part of this kit but the cp4 disaster kit make sure you tighten hose clamps I did not do this and it cam off so I had to take upper and lower intake off on the side of the road and lucky the truck didn’t burn down. But I would say that was my fault for not verifying!
Fits great! Easy install! All parts come with this as well didn’t need to go out and get anything. Not only that but the price man that’s damn good
Good fitment on all items. All block off plates fit good and dont leak. Downpipe fits perfectly. All gaskets included good quality.
I’m so happy with my egr delete kit and intake. I made the best decision in choosing Spelab to enhance my 2500 ram truck. I’ll keep buying more stuff from them. It’s starting to be an addiction!! Thanks Spelab!!
The exhaust and muffler fit great. Had to make one cut but that took no more than a couple minutes to measure and make the cut. I’m very pleased with the muffler included, sounds good but keeps the noise down and no drone in the cab. Will buy again.
Everything fit great. The finish is good and it includes everything you need to get rid of that POs Egr cooler
You know how it goes when you try to save a dollar, you cut cost of quality. But this is actually not the case so far. Finish is smooth, no bad cuts that i could see. Plate wasn’t warped with was a concern for me but no leaks this far. I’d buy again
Love the pipe however one band clamp was damaged upon arrival. I was able to bend it back to the correct form and use it. All hangers were in the correct location took about 30 mins for me to install by myself.
Intake came in nice and shiny looks like a great product also got the red intake plate and man oh man does it look sharp, overall I recommend Spelab products. Looks clean performs even better
Comes quickly in a little box. I work on my truck but am no mechanic. It took me 2 hours to remove and install the kit. Im very happy with the outcome. Im going to give it 5 starts but you do have to reuse the two gaskets on the EGR cooler. My advice is pick them up from the parts store so its all new. Total cost is $24 for both. They should be included but im still very happy.
Great product. Does everything it is supposed to do. I do wish it came with printed instructions. Following along with greasy fingers on my phone was problematic. Also, the hose fitting for the coolant line was a size too small. I had to purchase the correct size.
