Duramax Intercooler Pipe
Duramax Intercooler Pipe Kits for 6.6L Chevy and GMC Trucks
SPELAB Duramax intercooler pipe kits are designed to solve common problems in the 6.6L Duramax charge-air system, including weak factory intercooler pipes, leaking boots, loose clamps, cracked pipe sections, and poor sealing around the hot side, cold side, or Y-bridge connection. These pipes help carry compressed air between the turbocharger, intercooler, and intake system on Chevy Silverado and GMC Sierra 2500HD / 3500HD diesel trucks.
This collection covers Duramax intercooler pipe upgrades for LLY, LBZ, LMM, and LML platforms, including hot side pipe kits, cold side pipe kits, and Y-bridge style cold side upgrades. If your truck has boost leaks, pressure drop, turbo lag, weak throttle response, repeated boot blow-off, or oil residue around the couplers, upgrading the intercooler piping can help restore a stronger and more reliable charge-air path.
What Problems Do Duramax Intercooler Pipes Help Solve?
A Duramax intercooler pipe kit does not replace the intercooler core or the radiator. It targets the charge-air piping system: the pipe sections, boots, couplers, clamps, and Y-bridge connection that carry boost pressure through the intake path.
- Hot side pipe leaks: Helps replace weak or leaking pipe sections between the turbocharger and intercooler inlet.
- Cold side pipe leaks: Helps restore sealing between the intercooler outlet and intake-side charge-air path.
- Y-bridge connection issues: Supports LBZ and LMM trucks where the cold side pipe routes toward the Y-bridge area.
- Boot and clamp failures: Helps address loose couplers, worn boots, repeated boot blow-off, or clamp sealing problems.
- Boost leaks and pressure drop: Replaces cracked, restrictive, or poorly sealed factory piping that may let boost pressure escape.
- Turbo lag and weak throttle response: A tighter charge-air path can help the turbo build and hold boost more consistently.
Choose the Right Duramax Intercooler Pipe by Engine
Duramax intercooler pipe fitment changes by engine generation and pipe location. Before ordering, confirm your model year, engine code, and whether your truck needs a hot side pipe, cold side pipe, or Y-bridge cold side pipe.
2004.5–2010 LLY / LBZ / LMM Hot Side Intercooler Pipes
A hot side intercooler pipe kit is used on the turbo-to-intercooler side of the charge-air system. It is a good replacement when the hot side pipe, boot, or clamp area shows cracking, oil residue, hissing under boost, or poor sealing during towing, tuned driving, or high-boost use.
2006–2010 LBZ / LMM Cold Side and Y-Bridge Pipes
LBZ and LMM Duramax trucks use a cold side layout that may include a Y-bridge style connection. A cold side or Y-bridge intercooler pipe upgrade is useful when the leak is closer to the intake side, the Y-bridge area, or the intercooler outlet. These kits are especially relevant for trucks with cold side boost leaks, pressure loss, loose couplers, or slow turbo response caused by leaking factory connections.
2011–2016 LML Duramax Intercooler Pipe Kits
LML Duramax trucks use a different intercooler pipe layout from earlier LBZ and LMM models. An LML Duramax intercooler pipe kit is used when replacing aging factory piping, fixing charge-air leaks, or refreshing the boost system on daily-driven, towing, or tuned Silverado and Sierra HD trucks.
Hot Side vs Cold Side Duramax Intercooler Pipes
The hot side pipe carries compressed air from the turbocharger toward the intercooler. The cold side pipe carries cooled air from the intercooler toward the intake system. If the leak, hissing sound, or oil residue is closer to the turbo outlet, inspect the hot side pipe. If the issue is closer to the intake, Y-bridge, or intercooler outlet, inspect the cold side pipe, boots, and clamps.
Choosing the correct side matters because a hot side pipe will not replace a cold side pipe, and LBZ/LMM Y-bridge cold side designs are not the same as LML pipe layouts. Always verify fitment by year, engine code, and pipe location before ordering.
When Should You Upgrade Your Duramax Charge Pipe?
A Duramax charge pipe upgrade is most useful when the factory intercooler piping can no longer hold boost reliably. Common signs include hissing under acceleration, reduced power, slow turbo response, loose clamps, oily residue around the boots, repeated boot blow-off, or visible cracks in the pipe or coupler.
These upgrades are especially suitable for towing, hauling, tuned trucks, high-boost setups, hot-weather driving, and high-mileage Duramax trucks where the original charge-air pipes, boots, or clamps are worn. If the intercooler core itself is leaking or damaged, inspect the intercooler separately; this collection focuses on intercooler piping and charge-air connections.
If you are refreshing your Duramax charge-air system, you may also want to compare Duramax intercooler upgrades, Duramax performance parts, performance intake manifold upgrades, and performance radiator upgrades for related airflow and cooling system upgrades.

This is a really nice set up inexpensive but well-made. Make sure you use 1/4 inch drive and torque wrench, if you get the half socket 10mm and multi size extensions even better it’ll make getting those two back bolts easy
Makes truck breathe better and will definitely blow your y bridge out so do that while you’re in there looks great and fits up pretty good not perfect
Installed this SPELAB EGR Throttle Valve Delete on my 6.7 Cummins and the fitment was perfect. The kit was well made, installation was straightforward, and all the necessary parts were included. Everything lined up as it should and the truck runs great. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a quality replacement component.
I originally had the Banks Monster Ram intake with grid heater delete, and costed $1200. Recently I decided to give Spelab a try for their 3.5” pusher style intake with grid heater delete. Fraction of the price and performs the same. Only regret I have was my purchase of Banks.
Great product
Good product fast sipping was not that bad of a job
Nicely done ✅
Easy installation and everything fit perfectly. The kit is well-made, comes with the necessary components, and worked as expected. Shipping was fast and the quality exceeded my expectations. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a reliable EGR delete kit.
Very impressed with the quality of the cooler. Couldn’t find any instructions for the install. However, I was able to figure it out and plan to post a video for anyone else who may need help with the install.
Installed this on my 2015 6.7 Powerstroke and everything fit perfectly. Quality parts, straightforward install, and noticeable improvement in engine temps and reliability. Would definitely recommend this kit to anyone doing an EGR delete.
Installed on a 2019 Ram cab and chassis with no issues. Fitment was good, quality looks solid, and throttle response feels better. Definitely recommend this intake horn/grid heater upgrade.
Its worked perfectly so far. Make sure to buy one that is the correct size and that there is room for it. The motor is larger then I expected but made it work and ive used it everytime I drive
Perfect fit, excellent craftsmanship, great look,I would recommend this to others
I am very happy with my unpainted cast aluminum cover. I didn’t have any issues with fitment or hardware / sight glass installation. It looks great inside and out. I wish I would’ve taken a picture before reinstalling the spare tire.

Great solid parts. Install was relatively easy and the kit looks amazing. Going to buy another kit for my 24 Duramax soon.
Duramax Intercooler Pipe FAQ
A Duramax intercooler pipe carries compressed air between the turbocharger, intercooler, and intake system. It is part of the charge-air system and helps the engine receive pressurized air under boost.
It can help fix problems with the hot side pipe, cold side pipe, Y-bridge connection, intercooler boots, couplers, clamps, and related charge-air piping connections.
They mainly solve charge-air path problems such as boost leaks, pressure loss, cracked factory pipes, loose boots, clamp sealing issues, Y-bridge leaks, and weak turbo response caused by leaking or restrictive piping.
This collection covers 6.6L Duramax intercooler pipe upgrades for LLY, LBZ, LMM, and LML diesel trucks, including many Chevy Silverado and GMC Sierra 2500HD / 3500HD applications from 2004.5–2016.
The hot side pipe is on the turbo-to-intercooler side. The cold side pipe is on the intercooler-to-intake side. Choose based on where the leak, crack, loose boot, or oil residue is located.
A Y-bridge cold side pipe is part of the intake-side charge-air path on certain LBZ and LMM Duramax trucks. It routes air from the intercooler outlet toward the Y-bridge area, so correct fitment is important.
It can fix a boost leak if the leak comes from the pipe, boot, coupler, clamp, or Y-bridge connection. If the intercooler core itself is leaking, the intercooler should also be inspected.
No. A Duramax intercooler is the heat exchanger core that cools compressed air. A Duramax intercooler pipe is the tubing that carries air to or from the intercooler. This collection focuses on pipe kits and charge-air connections.
They are suited for towing, hauling, daily driving, tuned trucks, high-boost setups, hot-weather operation, factory pipe replacement, and high-mileage Duramax trucks with worn charge-air connections.
