Sounds great, had all the hardware good quality metal and was easy to install only con was had to take off the spare tire to install.
Main challenges are removing and sealing the factory crankcase-breather hoses, then transferring the factory O-ring without stretching or mis-seating it. Cap every disconnected factory port/tube correctly, lift the old cover straight up, keep debris out, and route the new breather hose safely—zip-tied away from moving/hot parts. Start all six bolts by hand, tighten from the center outward, and use only 4–8 ft-lb. Be gentle to avoid scratching anodized covers.
Good quality and half the big brands price love itttttt
Great company and great products i was referred by a friend
Definitely a noticable difference over stock, and looks better as well!
I used a different oil catch can because it was “cheaper”. It just made a mess of my engine compartment. It couldn’t handle the pressure of the Cummins. Should have gotten this one in the first place. You get what you pay for! I have alot of SPELAB parts in my truck should have known better. Love the setup, easy to do yourself and now I don’t have to worry about it ever again. Set it and forget it! Love SPELAB!! Set up looks amazing!!!
The kit came quickly and wasn’t missing everything. The finish of the billet parts it nice and so is the powder on the pipe. Drove 2000 plus miles with with on and have had zero issues.
Loved the kit good fit and finish and easy to install. The little extraction tool helped immensely for that pesky bolt on the back. I purchased this kit because of the good reviews and I seen one on a 2018 Chevy Duramax that had been fully deleted and was asking the owner questions about the kit and where he bought it, he said SPELAB it was well worth the money and made it easier to put oil in the truck and yes does make it a lot easier to fill the engine with oil and if the old plastic ccv system cracks do to heat and and age it pushes oil on the engine and could cause a fire so it was well worth the money and piece of mind. So if you are looking for a CCV reroute kit I highly recommend this kit.
do not treat head studs like ordinary bolts. Clean and chase every block thread, verify hole depth and any fluid passages, then apply the supplied assembly lubricant only where specified—especially on nut and washer contact surfaces.
Took the gamble on these. Ive installed arp studs for customers and I did these in my truck. Few thousand miles now and no issues. I can’t say they are better than arp but I can say they are just as good for just half of the price.
Coolant Reservoir for 2011-2019 Ford 6.7L Powerstroke Coolant Overflow Tank | SPELAB
Good quality coolant tank with fair price!
First off I purchased this intake horn/w grid heater relocation because of the price and the heating element came as a kit. I am not a truck mechanic and this part wasn't very easy for me to swap out. The parts were shipped extremely fast and well packaged this intake horn was installed in conjunction with Spelab's rid heater delete kit. I was also nervous to do this swap myself because I haven't messed with any of these parts previously. But Praise God I was able to take everything apart and install the new parts without any issues. The videos were alright also looked up a few videos on YouTube to get a better idea of what I was up against before I started. Overall Spelab has been a great experience, all the parts were very nice looking and well made. I will definitely do business with Spelab in the future. I am considering doing the head stud kit.
Works great on my 08 f250, thank you spelab!
Billet Aluminum Valve Cover for 2008-2010 Ford F250 F350 F450 F550 6.4L Powerstroke | SPELAB
It’s an exhaust not really much to screw up. Exactly what I thought it would be.
Chevy Exhaust Header faqs
An exhaust header is a performance‑oriented replacement for the factory exhaust manifold. It uses equal‑length primary tubes that merge into a collector, reducing exhaust backpressure and improving scavenging. This design allows exhaust gases to exit more efficiently, increasing horsepower and torque compared to the cast‑iron, log‑style factory manifold.
Yes. On a typical small‑block or LS‑based Chevy V8, a quality header can add 15‑30 horsepower and 20‑40 lb‑ft of torque, especially in the mid‑ to high‑RPM range. Gains are more noticeable when paired with a free‑flowing exhaust and intake.
For most carbureted or older fuel‑injected engines, a tune is not required but can optimize performance. For modern GM trucks with OBD‑II (1996 and newer), a tune is highly recommended to eliminate the check engine light (P0420/P0430 catalyst efficiency codes) and adjust fuel trims for the improved exhaust flow.
Shorty headers are compact and often direct replacements for factory manifolds, offering moderate gains without major fitment changes. Long‑tube headers have longer primary tubes that maximize scavenging and power, but may require modifications to the exhaust system and chassis. SPELAB offers both styles for various Chevy applications.
Most aftermarket headers are not CARB‑exempt and are not legal for street use in California or other states with strict emissions laws. Some shorty headers may carry an Executive Order (EO) number; check the product description. For off‑road or competition use only unless stated otherwise.
SPELAB headers are typically constructed from 14‑gauge or 16‑gauge steel, with options for aluminized steel (409 stainless) or ceramic coating. Ceramic‑coated headers reduce under‑hood temperatures and resist corrosion better than plain steel.
Installation complexity varies by vehicle. On classic Chevy cars/trucks with ample engine‑bay space, it's a straightforward DIY job. On newer trucks with tight packaging, you may need to remove accessories, lift the engine, or modify the exhaust piping. Professional installation is recommended if you're not comfortable with fabrication.
Not if installed correctly. Use new, high‑quality header gaskets (copper or multi‑layer steel) and tighten bolts in a criss‑cross pattern to the manufacturer's torque spec. Check for leaks after the first heat cycle and retighten as needed.
Yes. SPELAB headers include bungs for factory O2 sensors. If you retain your catalytic converters, ensure the headers are designed to connect to the existing cat‑pipe flanges. Many headers are compatible with aftermarket high‑flow cats.
SPELAB covers a wide range: Small‑Block Gen I (265‑400), LS series (LS1, LS2, LS3, LS6, etc.), modern EcoTec3 (4.8L, 5.3L, 6.0L, 6.2L), and classic big‑block (396, 402, 427, 454). Applications include trucks (Silverado, Sierra), SUVs (Tahoe, Suburban), and muscle cars (Camaro, Chevelle, Monte Carlo).
