FAQS

LBZ (2006–2007), LLY (2004–2005), LMM (2007.5–2010), and LML (2011–2016). All four generations of the 6.6L Duramax V8 are supported with platform-specific EGR delete kits.

It removes the Exhaust Gas Recirculation system that routes hot exhaust gases back into the intake. Eliminating EGR reduces carbon buildup on intake valves, lowers engine coolant temps, and restores lost horsepower from the clogged factory EGR cooler.

Basic deletes remove EGR plumbing and block the ports. Kits with a high-flow intake elbow replace the factory elbow with a larger-diameter pipe that reduces restriction — improving airflow and throttle response after the delete.

Yes. A compatible tuner (EFI Live, HP Tuners, or similar) is required to disable EGR-related fault codes and allow the ECM to run properly without EGR feedback. Some tunes can be loaded remotely via EZ Lynk on newer LML/L5P models.

The CCV (Crankcase Ventilation Valve) reroute kit moves blow-by gases away from the intake tract after EGR deletion. This prevents oil buildup on the turbo inlet and intake valves — it is the natural companion to any EGR delete on the LML.

Yes — EGR deletes are intended for off-road and racing use only. On highway-certified trucks they will cause the vehicle to fail emissions testing and may void the emissions warranty.
