What does a downpipe do?
The downpipe on your turbocharged vehicle is directing the exhaust gases out of the turbine housing into the exhaust system. An aftermarket downpipe will typically be larger in diameter and either uses a high-flowing catalytic converter or remove the catalytic converter altogether.
By removing the factory downpipe and replacing it with a high flowing unit you are allowing the turbo to more efficiently move gases away from the turbine which creates more power. Since the factory restrictions are now gone you can increase the boost on the vehicle as the factory downpipe is a choking point for performance.

Down pipe fit, its peeling badly, the mounting hole which holds the pipe to the engine is oversized by far overall its installed

Tighten the hose clamps on the heat wrap before you install it they were loose on mine.
I went with the 3" down pipe as well as the lb7 style up pipe for my 06 lbz.
highly recommend the up pipe, much better than the block off plate.
paired with the 3" down pipe is a must, I can tell my truck is building boost quicker and getting the exhaust out faster.

I just installed the down pipe this weekend on my 05 duramax and it is amazing. I tow a 6800lb toy hauler and my egts used to reach almost 1300° on a small incline but now even on a larger incline my egts get to about 1200 and then back right down at the top of hill as well as my turbo spools much easier and quicker. Love the product and would recommend it.

Leaks/doesn’t fit on the turbo. Total junk had to buy a brand name. PPE and MBRP fit fine don’t buy this crap

Bolted right up to my LBZ. Definitely more pronounced turbo noise.
Only issue is the paint is starting to disintegrate

I have an LMM and replaced the up-pipes and the downpipe. The down pipe touches the new up-pipes causing the downpipe to not fully seat on the turbo. The clamp pulled it in but I would think this shouldn't be an issue. Other than that, the up-pipes are solid and look good. The down pipe is a get what you pay for, good enough.
