Description

Keep your intake system clean and your engine running at peak performance with this high-efficiency oil catch can, precision-engineered for Dodge Ram 5.9L and 6.7L diesel engines. Designed for use with aftermarket valve covers, this catch can connects to the Crankcase Ventilation (CCV) system to capture oil vapor and blow-by, preventing oil residue from entering the intake manifold. Ideal for modified or performance-tuned trucks, this unit offers a low-maintenance, high-capacity solution thanks to its direct-drain integration and washable filter.

Fitment

  • 2003–2007 Dodge Ram 5.9L Diesel
  • 2007.5–2025 Dodge Ram 6.7L Diesel
  • Not compatible with trucks equipped with dual alternators

Key Features

  • Self-Draining Design: Utilizes the OEM side port on the engine block for direct oil drainage—no need to manually empty the can frequently.

  • High-Efficiency Separation: Features internal baffles and a washable top filter to maximize oil-vapor separation and reduce intake contamination.

  • Engine Protection: Prevents oil vapors from reaching the intake system, reducing carbon buildup and improving engine longevity.

  • Billet Aluminum Construction: CNC-machined for precision and durability, enhancing both function and engine bay appearance.

  • Wide Compatibility: Fits Dodge Ram 5.9L & 6.7L diesel engines and is fully compatible with SPELAB aftermarket valve covers.

  • Color Options: Available in both red and black anodized finishes to match your engine build aesthetic.

Efficient Oil-Vapor Separation for Diesel Crankcase Ventilation

How it works:

  • Crankcase gases enter through the dual inlets on the left side.

  • Inside, an internal baffle wall splits the can into two chambers.

  • Oil vapor hits a stainless steel and condenses.

  • Oil collects at the bottom and drains cleanly via the outlet.

  • Filtered air exits through the top-mounted outlet on the right side, minimizing mess and emissions.

This design prevents oily residue under the truck and eliminates the risk of oil being pulled into the exhaust during heavy loads. With a sealed and serviceable structure, it ensures easy maintenance and clean operation—perfect for drivers who demand both performance and practicality.

Application – Usage Scenarios & System Integration

  • Aftermarket Valve Cover
Crankcase pressure increases after tuning or under high load, often pushing oil vapor directly into the intake. Paired with a valve cover, this catch can routes and traps the oil mist before it enters the turbo inlet, reducing carbon buildup and oil film in intake pipes.

  • CCV System
Stock CCV setups often allow oil vapor to enter the intake tract. This catch can acts as an additional filter, improving separation efficiency and reducing maintenance on sensors, filters, and intercoolers.

  • EGR Delete Kit
Without EGR, the intake airflow increases, but residual oil vapor can still coat the manifold. The catch can stops this at the source, preserving clean air channels and ensuring smoother throttle response.

  • Cold Air Intake / High-Flow Filters
Oil mist reaching aftermarket filters can clog filter elements and affect air metering. The catch can keeps the intake charge clean, maintaining airflow accuracy and filter life.

  • Turbocharger & Intercooler System
Oil pooling in the intercooler can lead to heat soak and reduced boost efficiency. By intercepting oil vapor early, this unit keeps the charge air cooler and the system more responsive under boost.

  • High-Mileage / Towing Applications
Engines under load or with wear produce more blow-by. The catch can reduces oil fouling in the intake, lowering the risk of detonation, misfire, or reduced fuel efficiency during heavy use.
