The Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) is an essential component in most post-2007 diesel vehicles, designed to reduce emissions. However, this device comes with certain disadvantages, including frequent maintenance and potential repair costs.
As the DPF becomes clogged, it increases exhaust backpressure, which disrupts fuel flow, slowing it down considerably. By removing the DPF, fuel can flow more freely and efficiently, leading to significant improvements in fuel economy.
Specification
| Exhaust Material | SUS409 stainless steel, it resists heat and corrosion for long-lasting race performance |
| Thickness | 2mm |
| Inlet Diameter | 4.0"/5.0‘’ |
| mandrel-bent construction | Precision-formed tubing maintains consistent diameter for smooth airflow and reduced backpressure |
Benefits
- Improved Fuel Efficiency: If your DPF is clogged, your fuel economy may be around 13-14 mpg. After performing a DPF delete, your combined fuel mileage could increase to 18-19 mpg, thanks to better exhaust flow.
- Eliminates DPF Maintenance: A Dodge Ram 6.7 diesel DPF delete eliminates the need for regular DPF cleaning or replacement, saving you time and money on ongoing maintenance.
- Prevents Costly Diesel Repairs: By removing the DPF, you reduce the risk of DPF failure, which can lead to expensive repairs.
- Enhanced Engine Performance: Reduced exhaust backpressure increases exhaust flow, resulting in improved engine performance. When paired with an ECU remap, a DPF delete using SPELAB parts can significantly boost power and torque, enhancing your vehicle’s overall performance.
- You will get a FREE high-quality exhaust tip for 4''&5'' Dp-back – unlike others who charge extra!
Choosing a DPF delete with SPELAB not only improves fuel efficiency and reduces maintenance costs but also optimizes your vehicle's performance for a smoother and more powerful ride.
Installation
Install takes about 1hr with basic hand tools done on the ground of your driveway or garage. Quicker if you have automotive style lift. Cutting may be be required to fit shorter wheelbase bed/cab configurations. Clamps, hangers and hardware are included. You may have to re-use some factory hardware.
Tuner Required: To remove the DPF, Catalytic Converter (CAT), Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR), or Diesel Oxidation Catalyst (DOC), you must also remove emission-related sensors. To prevent check engine lights or diagnostic trouble codes, you will need a DPF delete-compatible tuner, which SPELAB provides as part of their high-performance tuning solutions.
