DPF Delete Kits
1. Maximize Diesel Performance with SPELAB Straight Pipe & DPF Delete Kits
For diesel truck owners seeking more power, efficiency, and durability, SPELAB offers the ultimate upgrade: DPF delete kits and straight pipe exhaust systems. Whether you drive a Powerstroke, Duramax, or Cummins, our precision-engineered solutions reduce backpressure and exhaust temperatures (EGTs) while improving throttle response and fuel economy. Built from T304 stainless steel, our systems are designed to deliver freedom, reliability, and aggressive diesel performance.
2. What Is a Straight Pipe & DPF Delete System?
In diesel performance upgrades, Straight Pipe and DPF Delete are often discussed together. The former focuses on optimizing exhaust flow, while the latter removes emissions control devices—together, they form a key strategy for maximizing exhaust efficiency and unleashing engine power in diesel vehicles.
At SPELAB, a straight pipe setup typically includes a DPF delete as part of a full exhaust upgrade system. However, they are not entirely synonymous—DPF delete specifically targets the removal of emissions-related components, whereas a straight pipe aims to create a fully unrestricted exhaust path from the turbocharger to the tailpipe.
A Straight Pipe Exhaust system eliminates the muffler, catalytic converter, and DPF filter, allowing exhaust gases to exit the engine through the shortest, most direct route. This significantly reduces backpressure, improves turbo spool-up, lowers exhaust gas temperatures (EGTs), and increases fuel economy.
On the other hand, a DPF Delete involves physically removing the Diesel Particulate Filter and reprogramming the ECU to disable the DPF regeneration function—resulting in a fully liberated exhaust system.
To better understand why a DPF delete delivers such dramatic performance improvements, it's helpful to first look at the components that make up a factory DPF system:
| Component Name | Function |
|---|---|
| DPF Filter | Captures particulate matter (PM) in exhaust gases to reduce pollution |
| Differential Pressure Sensor | Monitors pressure difference before and after the DPF to detect clogging |
| Temperature Sensors | Monitor exhaust gas temperature to determine if regeneration is needed |
| NOx / O₂ Sensors | Analyze nitrogen oxide or oxygen levels to adjust emissions management |
| ECU (Electronic Control Unit) | Receives sensor data and manages the DPF regeneration cycle |
| Fuel Injection for Regeneration | Injects extra fuel into the exhaust to raise temperatures for soot burnoff |
| DPF Warning Light | Illuminates when DPF is clogged or malfunctioning |
While these factory components are designed to comply with emissions regulations, they can also cause significant drawbacks: restricted exhaust flow, increased fuel consumption, frequent maintenance, and excessive engine temperatures.
With a SPELAB DPF Delete Kit, you can precisely eliminate these components and disable DPF regeneration through ECU tuning—delivering noticeable gains in horsepower, responsiveness, and reliability.
3. Unlock Performance: Why Choose a DPF Delete Kit? DPF Delete / Eliminator Kits Pros & Cons
Eliminating the restrictive factory DPF system is the single most effective way to wake up your diesel engine. By replacing the clogged filter with SPELAB’s free-flowing delete pipes and updating the ECU software, you transform a choked-down truck into a high-efficiency machine.
SPELAB’s diesel DPF delete kits deliver a powerful combination of real-world performance gains and long-term reliability. Here’s how our systems perform when paired with proper tuning:

9. FAQ
Q: Will a DPF delete trigger warning lights or error codes?
A: Yes—if not tuned. All DPF delete kits must be paired with proper ECU tuning. Without it, your truck may enter limp mode or show engine warning lights.
Q: Is this legal for road use?
A: No – off-road use only. SPELAB’s diesel delete kits are intended for race/off-road use in regions where emissions compliance is not enforced. It is the buyer's responsibility to ensure legal use in their area.
Q: Can I install a DPF delete kit myself?
A: Yes—many of our customers are DIY installers. SPELAB kits include:
- Precise, model-specific design (no cutting or welding)
- Diagrams & written instructions

A: We offer fast shipping across the U.S. and Canada, typically within:
- 3–7 business days in the U.S.
- 5–10 business days to most Canadian provinces
Tracking is provided on all orders. Expedited shipping available at checkout.
Q: How do I know which kit fits my truck?
A: Use our vehicle filters or consult our support team. You’ll need to know:

- Model year (e.g., 2011–2023)
- Cab/chassis or pickup body type
- Inlet size preference (4" or 5")
We're happy to help confirm fitment before you order.
Q: How long does DPF regeneration take?
A: Most diesel trucks take 20–45 minutes to complete a DPF regen. It usually happens every 300–500 miles, depending on driving conditions.
With a SPELAB DPF delete kit and proper tuning, regen cycles are fully eliminated, improving power and fuel efficiency.
Q: How much does it cost to remove a DPF?
A: The total cost typically ranges from $1,000 to over $3,500, depending on your vehicle and the method used. A basic delete pipe kit starts around $500–$800, but you will also need a tuner (essential to prevent error codes), which adds $500–$1,500. Professional installation labor generally costs between $500 and $1,500. For a detailed breakdown of parts, labor, and tuning fees, read our full guide on the cost to remove a DPF.
Q: What is the best place to shop for a DPF delete kit?

Hoping to gain a sponsorship soon I use yalls parts on my personal build and customers builds
Very good quality kit and was easy to install!! I highly recommend it!!
Im very pleased with the intake horn and grid heater delete for my Cummins 6.7.
Instalation was straight forward and the kit came with everything required.
Excellent quality product that definitely delivers a difference in throttle response. You can tell that the engine is breathing much better. I highly recommend this to everyone out there. Shipping was fast too!! And to top it off, the dreaded engine killing grid heater plate is gone for good! Look how bad the grid heater was after only 46,000 mi. You can barely see thru the grids. Ridiculous design by Cummins/Ram. They should be ashamed for putting that piece of junk on such a good engine. Next up, turbo tubes!
Fit my 08 6.4 extended cab just fine. Sounds great with a 5x7 tip
I have always used there products and customers always are happy
Was on the fence between the 4 or 5…but definitely glad I went with the 5! Fits perfect and sounds amazing!!
Wow. That says it all. Fast shipping, looks great big thing is what a difference it makes from stock things just act different with the more air flow.
Installed CCV catch can kit for a 2016 Ford F250 very easy to install so far no issues would recommend/seems to be very good quality/
The parts were packaged well and customer service was amazing. The instructions were super easy to follow and overall layout of the kit made the install go like a breeze. I only took three hours to install the kit and I’ve hadn’t had a single problem with it. You can hear a difference in the truck and the mileage has gone up. I would recommend this kit.
Perfect fit, very happy with my purchase
Everything is super high quality, and the absolute best price is could find if i had to complain about anything it would be the exhaust tip I wish the flange for the clamp was .1 longer to get a socket on it.
Product looks good and bolted on with ease. I used the factor fill hole for the first fill and it aligned perfectly with the ball floating in the middle of the sight glass. In the future I can just top fill and use the glass as the gauge. Very happy with it so far!
My spec lab EGR delete kit has been absolutely amazing. It was fast and easy to install and keep my truck running 5° cooler.
The installation went great just to remove the 2024 gmc cover vent you need a t40 bit and to hammer it in to get the security screws out. Love the look and over all installation God Bless.
