The SPELAB Dana 80 Differential Cover is engineered for heavy-duty trucks that demand enhanced protection, durability, and serviceability. It is a direct upgrade over the thin factory cover, designed to perform in demanding towing, off-road, and work-truck environments.
Heavy-Duty Construction
Manufactured from high-strength steel or cast aluminum (depending on version)
Significantly stronger than OEM stamped steel covers
Built to withstand harsh road conditions, impacts, and heavy loads
Enhanced Protection
Reinforced, thick-wall design protects the differential housing from rocks, debris, and road hazards
Ideal for towing, hauling, off-road use, and commercial applications
Improved Oil Management
Integrated fill and drain ports for easy fluid service
Magnetic drain plug (if equipped) helps capture metal particles and extend gear life
Increased oil capacity design helps reduce operating temperatures under heavy load
Leak-Free Sealing
Precision-machined sealing surface ensures a tight, consistent seal
Helps prevent fluid leaks and improves long-term reliability
Innovative points:
1. The external heat sink design increases the contact area between the differential cover and the surrounding air, enhancing heat dissipation performance.
2. The internal diversion groove design aligns with the direction of liquid flow in the differential gear's rotation, ensuring maximum flow rate for better lubrication.
3. The use of aluminum alloy material significantly improves cooling performance compared to the commonly used iron material. When comparing billet to cast products, billet items are often considered more durable and built for long-lasting performance.
4. An external observation mirror with a floating ball is used to monitor the oil level. Traditional observation mirrors in the market may darken over time, reducing visibility. Therefore, the floating ball allows us to monitor the oil level even if the mirror darkens.
