Exhaust Manifold
Why Upgrading the SPELAB Exhaust Manifold is Key to Performance
Upgrading the exhaust manifold is one of the most effective ways to improve vehicle performance, enhance exhaust tone, and solve issues like exhaust manifold leaks. Especially in older vehicles or those experiencing pressure loss, replacing a worn manifold with a high-performance version from SPELAB brings immediate improvements in throttle response and overall efficiency.
Compared to stock cast iron manifolds, SPELAB’s lightweight, high-flow designs offer better heat dissipation and increased flow rates. They're ideal for high-torque diesel trucks like the 2017 Ford F-350 Super Duty 6.7L Powerstroke, as well as powerful gasoline vehicles like the 2006 Dodge Ram 1500 5.7L HEMI. When combined with a performance exhaust system, SPELAB manifolds help reduce backpressure and unleash the engine’s full potential.
SPELAB exhaust manifolds also enhance the vehicle’s sound profile, producing a deep and aggressive exhaust note that satisfies both daily drivers and performance enthusiasts. That’s why many customers consider upgrading their manifold a top priority when refreshing or replacing exhaust system parts.
Vehicle Compatibility with SPELAB Exhaust Manifolds
SPELAB’s exhaust manifold lineup is designed to fit a wide range of North American vehicles, from light-duty gasoline pickups to heavy-duty diesel trucks. Whether you're driving a street-ready SUV, a towing workhorse, or building a performance exhaust system, SPELAB offers fitment-verified solutions tailored to your vehicle.
For diesel applications like the 2015 Ford F-250 6.7L Powerstroke, SPELAB provides high-flow Ford 6.7L exhaust manifolds engineered to reduce exhaust temperatures and turbo lag—ideal for towing and off-road use. On the gasoline side, the 2010 Ram 1500 5.7L HEMI often suffers from cracked OEM manifolds, and a stainless exhaust manifold from SPELAB offers a durable and cost-effective replacement.
SPELAB also serves the performance aftermarket with LS platform support, offering Chevy exhaust manifolds compatible with LS1, LS2, LS3, and LS6 engines. These are perfect for LS swap projects in 80s–90s GM vehicles like the S10, Camaro, and C10.
Each product page includes detailed compatibility listings—vehicle make, model year, and engine displacement—so customers can easily find the right part. Whether you're shopping for an F350 exhaust manifold, Ram 1500 exhaust manifold, or a racing-oriented LS header, SPELAB delivers comprehensive coverage and high performance.
How to Choose the Right SPELAB Exhaust Manifold for Your Vehicle
When choosing an exhaust manifold, the most important step is confirming your exact vehicle information, including make, model year, engine displacement, and engine type. SPELAB provides precise fitment listings on each product page, covering popular platforms like the 2012 Ford F-350 6.7L Powerstroke V8 diesel and the 2007 Chevy Silverado 5.3L Vortec gasoline engine, so you can shop with confidence.
If you're experiencing an exhaust manifold leak or cracking, it's generally more effective to replace rather than repair. Cast iron manifolds often suffer fatigue from thermal cycling, and patch repairs are typically short-term fixes. In contrast, SPELAB’s stainless exhaust manifold features high-heat resistant, corrosion-proof steel and fully welded construction—ideal for demanding, long-haul or high-performance applications.
Also consider the correct mounting side—like the passenger side exhaust manifold—especially for V-configured engines found in trucks like the Ram 1500 5.7L V8 or Ford F-250 V8. Getting the correct side ensures a perfect fit and hassle-free installation.
Finally, if you're upgrading your full exhaust system, such as adding high-flow cat-backs or removing the muffler, replacing your exhaust manifold first maximizes system-wide gains in flow and efficiency.
Installation & Maintenance Tips for Exhaust Manifolds
Installing and maintaining your SPELAB exhaust manifold properly is essential for performance and longevity. For vehicles like the 1999 Ford Ranger 3.0L V6, replacing the stock manifold requires close attention to exhaust manifold bolts and gasket sealing to prevent future leaks.
When removing the OEM manifold, use penetrating oil on old bolts to avoid snapping them due to rust or corrosion. SPELAB recommends pairing new manifolds with high-temp gaskets and reinforced bolts to ensure a tight seal with the cylinder head, preventing recurring exhaust manifold leaks.
During installation, always follow the torque specs provided by the vehicle manufacturer. Over-tightening can warp the manifold or strip threads, especially in aluminum engine blocks like those found in some Silverado or F150 models. Use the “center-out” criss-cross method to evenly distribute pressure while tightening bolts.
For V6 or V8 engines, confirm whether you need a passenger side exhaust manifold or a driver-side version. Swapping the sides by mistake will result in poor fitment and exhaust misalignment.
For long-term maintenance, we recommend checking bolt torque every 6–12 months and inspecting for black carbon trails—a common sign of leaks. Using SPELAB’s matching gaskets and bolt kits will help extend the life of your manifold and keep your exhaust system performing at its best.
Best Components to Pair with SPELAB Exhaust Manifolds
While upgrading your exhaust manifold alone delivers noticeable gains in flow and power, pairing it with other SPELAB exhaust system parts unlocks even greater performance—especially in mid-to-high RPM ranges where airflow dynamics become critical.
For diesel applications like the 2016 Ford F-350 6.7L Powerstroke, we recommend combining the Ford 6.7L exhaust manifold with a high-flow downpipe and DPF delete pipe. This trio significantly improves exhaust evacuation, reduces backpressure, and optimizes turbo spool response.
On gasoline platforms such as the 2014 Chevy Silverado 1500 5.3L V8, adding a cat back exhaust system after installing a Chevy exhaust manifold amplifies sound and horsepower without affecting the catalytic converter. To further fine-tune your sound, you can pair it with a muffler delete or high-flow muffler depending on your preference.
Additionally, using matching exhaust manifold bolts and high-temp gaskets ensures leak-free operation under extreme heat cycles. SPELAB offers complete kits so you can upgrade your entire exhaust flow path in one go.
For track-focused builds or aggressive street use, consider adding an electric cutout exhaust system, which lets you switch between full-flow race sound and a quieter setup with the press of a button—perfectly complementing the free-flowing characteristics of SPELAB manifolds.

Very nice
Good products great pricing
Works great, find out how to wire it on YouTube if you aren’t sure, super easy though only two wires
this 2017 3500 Ram with now 111274 miles was used by PO to pull 5th wheel and now it pulls a 30 ft airstream TT.. I change out fluid at 96K with OEM cover and started looking for replacement.. this is great with magnetic drain plugs which is a great help as we change out oil every 35K miles as we tow a lot..
This new alum cover with fins is much like the AAM unit used on teh HO engines from factory with not quite the amount of and placement of fins but in the end this accomplished the goal of keeping the fluid cooler especially when towing.
One thing i did notice was the no actual instruction on what was proper level of oil in sight glass.. Usually on OEM cover you fill till the oil dribbles out the fill plug on cover and that if good..
on this model I noticed the sight glass was lower than the OEM plug determining the level need to be not the middle of the sight glass but at the TOP of the sight glass.. just saying.. the inside has fluid diversion fins so help move the oil to ponion gear and the side bearing on housing..
The fit and finish are great and it looks super cool now in the alum color.. I though about spray painting and sanding the edge of the fins to have that nice contrast but left it silver.
highly recommend and the price is right..
Order came in a few days earlier than the expected delivery day pretty easy install it makes the engine may look a lot better
I purchased a pair of Spelab Electric Cutouts for my BMW. Everything in the kit was shipped quickly, was perfectly packaged and the quality of their product is top notch. I installed the cutouts and I couldn't happier with the way they work. I was even able to pair the remote to the Homelink buttons to open and close the valves.
Hoping to gain a sponsorship soon I use yalls parts on my personal build and customers builds
Very good quality kit and was easy to install!! I highly recommend it!!
Im very pleased with the intake horn and grid heater delete for my Cummins 6.7.
Instalation was straight forward and the kit came with everything required.
Excellent quality product that definitely delivers a difference in throttle response. You can tell that the engine is breathing much better. I highly recommend this to everyone out there. Shipping was fast too!! And to top it off, the dreaded engine killing grid heater plate is gone for good! Look how bad the grid heater was after only 46,000 mi. You can barely see thru the grids. Ridiculous design by Cummins/Ram. They should be ashamed for putting that piece of junk on such a good engine. Next up, turbo tubes!
Fit my 08 6.4 extended cab just fine. Sounds great with a 5x7 tip
I have always used there products and customers always are happy
Was on the fence between the 4 or 5…but definitely glad I went with the 5! Fits perfect and sounds amazing!!
Wow. That says it all. Fast shipping, looks great big thing is what a difference it makes from stock things just act different with the more air flow.
Installed CCV catch can kit for a 2016 Ford F250 very easy to install so far no issues would recommend/seems to be very good quality/
